The wonder pony - OWENDALE LEMON TWIST - is fondly remembered as one of the dominant ridden ponies on the Arabian and Open circuit for many years. TWISTER was purchased in November of 2005 from Kate Treneman, who still remains a large part of TWISTER'S life. TWISTER was bought with the intention of being a Dressage pony for young Kate Farrell, but the Farrell family had  little knowledge of what a little celebrity they were purchasing.

Within three months of owning TWISTER, he & Kate were awarded six Australian National Arabian Championships including the Bayer Trophy for highest pointed Dressage test. Most incredibly, five of those National Championships were awarded on one single day!

TWISTER and Kate went from strength to strength winning up to Elementary level dressage, taking many titles at the Arabian breed shows. After being removed from the open show scene after we purchased him the decision was made to take TWISTER back to his roots and compete once again in the Hunter Pony scene.

2009 saw the pair awarded the Show Horse Council Horse of the Year Champion Large Hunter Pony. 2010 Kate & TWISTER stepped it up taking home the sought after title of Sydney Royal Champion Large Show Hunter Pony, followed by a week later with the EFA NSW HOTY Large Show Hunter Pony Championship and the chance to represent NSW at the EFA National Hack & Rider Championships.

At the National Championships, the pair entered the arena at gallop to a remix of Queen's classic "We Will Rock You", the crowd behind them every step of the way. The hard work and preparation paid off as they took home the title of EFA National Runner-Up Large Hunter Pony of the Year.

TWISTER always gave 100% on every occasion, understanding his job every time he stepped into the showring. TWISTER always loved his life being ridden, and although he was the smallest member of the Mulawa Performance team he is unquestionably the most decorated competitor. TWISTER is not just another pony - he is a treasured and irreplaceable member of the Farrell Family and will always be priceless in our eyes.
