The 2017 Australian Arabian National Championships proved to be a landmark event for the get of ALLEGIANCE MI . Team Mulawa was once again on hand for the Australasian Breeders Cup held in conjunction with Sydney's Equifest. Exhibiting under the distinguished pair of international judges & breeders - Murray Popplewell of Rae-Dawn Arabians (Canada) & Rhodri Jones  (Wales) - as well under the experienced eye of well-known horseman & judge Doug Rutherford from Queensland, three Mulawa superstars were awarded top honours at the event.    Highest Scoring Horse of the Show was ROMANCE MI  with 334.5 points and a very impressive and internationally competitive 92.9%. On her first outing under Al Zobair ownership on home turf in the United Arab Emirates, KLASSICAL DEVOTION MI  won her the class for Four Year Old Mares and finished the day as highest scoring female of the Ajman Show. Returning for the Senior Mare Championship on Saturday, KLASSICAL DEVOTION was honoured with the title of Gold Champion Senior Mare, an accolade made even rewarding given the experience and the expertise of the universally renowned panel of judges. Good news from the Queensland show scene!  From Katherine Hopkins: Dark Knight has had another successful weekend at Top of the Range and Arabian Horse of the Year over the weekend. His results were Top 5 Gelding and Smartest on Parade at Hoty and 2nd Open Gelding, 1st Non Pro, Reserve Champion Gelding to Phantom and 2nd to Phantom in the Gala event. He's such a star! Congratulations to Joanne & Ram Gunabalan, JR's Dream Arabians - USA, on their continued success with IMPRESSA MI.  Just this past week in Brandon, Manitoba, IMPRESSA was named Canadian National Champion Senior Mare by unanimous consent of all five judges, and in doing so, also earned the highest score from amongst all the females at the show.  This important win gives IMPRESSA MI her second National Championship, having been named Canadian National Champion Two Year Old Filly in 2013. Team Halter and the Mulawa Community recently enjoyed a hugely successful weekend at the NSW State Titles. Mulawa-bred horses swept both the Champion & Reserve Champion titles in three of the four purebred breeding classes. The Junior Fillies were won by a sixth-generation Mulawa-bred female named FANTASIA MI. From the very first foal crop of Australian National Champion, as well as US & Canadian Reserve National Champion KAVALLE MI, FANTASIA is the first of her sire's foals to be shown. FANTASIA is also the first foal born to her glorious dam MI KLASSIC FANTASY, a former East Coast Champion & Australian National Reserve Champion, who is in turn a daughter of Living Legends KLASS & MUSTANG'S
