NSW State Titles Success
Team Halter and the Mulawa Community recently enjoyed a hugely successful weekend at the NSW State Titles. Mulawa-bred horses swept both the Champion & Reserve Champion titles in three of the four purebred breeding classes.
The Junior Fillies were won by a sixth-generation Mulawa-bred female named FANTASIA MI. From the very first foal crop of Australian National Champion, as well as US & Canadian Reserve National Champion KAVALLE MI, FANTASIA is the first of her sire's foals to be shown. FANTASIA is also the first foal born to her glorious dam MI KLASSIC FANTASY, a former East Coast Champion & Australian National Reserve Champion, who is in turn a daughter of Living Legends KLASS & MUSTANG'S MAGNUM, and a full sister the international sensation KLASSICAL DREAM MI. The Reserve Champion Junior Filly was awarded to the winner of the class for Two Year Old Fillies - KAVALIA MI. Sired by World Champion GAZAL AL SHAQAB, KAVALIA is a full sister to KAVALLE MI, and the fifth champion produce for her beloved Aristocrat Dam KARESS.
The Senior Mare Championship witnessed the return of ROMANCE MI, a twice Australian National Champion sired by MAGNUM FORTY FOUR and out of RIMARAA. Winning the class for Six to Nine Year Old Mares, ROMANCE was named Champion Senior Mare as well as Supreme Champion Senior Exhibit with Cameron Bonney at the lead. As an added bonus to this triumph, ROMANCE's daughter RHIAN MI (by GUILIANO) won her class for Three Year Old Fillies. Winning the Reserve Champion Senior Mare title was the always exuberant MI APHRODITE, now proudly owned by Renee Edwards & Kristopher Cook.
The SAHTARAH Family scored a second championship with MAGNETIC MI, a full brother to Australia's leading Aristocrat Dam MUSTANG'S MAGNUM (Magnum Forty Four x Sahtarah). The victor in the class for Four Year Old Stallions, MAGNETIC was named Senior Champion Stallion over the ever flamboyant GOLD N WINGS (Fame Maker R x On Angels Wings). Proud owner Courtney Gibson showed GOLD N WINGS to all three of his halter titles at the show, the biggest of which was Supreme Champion Exhibit Shown by a Non-Pro.
Vince & Karen Falzon had reason to celebrate as the breeders of Champion Junior Stallion & Supreme Champion Junior Exhibit ECHOS OF TOMORROW, a son of double MARWAN AL SHAQAB – ECHO MAGNIFFICOO import ECHOS OF MARWAN and the homebred FALZON TOMORROW’S DREAM. Now proudly owned by Robyn Rogers & Steven McCurley, the incredibly handsome ECHOS OF TOMORROW can claim a fourth-generation Mulawa-bred heritage tracing to the incomparable MULAWA CHANCE, still thriving at 32 years of age.
The RIMARAA Family also achieved dual championship honours at the show with REMARQUE MI, a yearling son of international sensation POGROM who was named Champion Junior Gelding for owner Keely Bisset.
Former Australian National Champion Stallion AAMAHNI added further glory to his illustrious career under saddle, wining the Champion Ridden Arabian Stallion with Jayna Prell in the irons. GOLD N WINGS, HIGH CALIBRE & MYSTERE MI all contributed to the success of the Mulawa Community in the ridden performance ring.
