2012-2013 Foaling Season at MulawaThe 2012-2013 foaling season is well underway with several outstanding foals already on the ground. Since August, each month has been full of promising colts and fillies that have both met and exceeded expectations on every level. The first foals of young Mulawa chief sire KONFIDENCE MI are thus far proving their sire a worthy successor to KLASS. Tall, correct and well balanced with impressive scope and athleticism, the KONFIDENCE foals all typify the excellence of their sire. KLASS continues to defy the odds by siring world-class foals with uncommon consistency. The superstar of the foal crop thus far is the first filly out of twice National Stud Show Champion Mare MAE MARIE. Several more foals are due in early 2013.

Team Performance at the National Stud Show
The National Stud Show at the Sydney International Equestrain Center was once again the setting for success for the Mulawa Performance team.This season our elite team consists of a number of young up & coming super stars of the future. We hope to carry this success on into 2013 with the East Coast & Australian National Championships.
National Stud Show Success - 2012The National Stud Show, hosted at the world class venue of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, once again proved an unqualified success for Team Mulawa - Halter and Performance. MULAWA ARIA | 1993-2012It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of MULAWA ARIA . She was peacefully found in her paddock at Alabama on the morning of October 13th. A beloved daughter of invaluable foundation mare KARMAA, MULAWA ARIA was the second foal of her remarkable dam, and the oldest daughter to remain in the Mulawa breeding program throughout her breeding career. Her sire was ARRIVAL, the Mulawa-bred Pure Polish son of foundation pillars AMBITION (imported from the United States) and EUNI (bred in Poland and imported from Germany). While evoking the unmistakeable femininity and effusive quality of her dam, ARIA was most strongly influenced by her Polish heritage, possesing the strength, substance and athleticism
Successful Sales at the Mulawa Open DayMulawa is proud to announce the successful sales of several horses during and shortly after the annual Open Day. Queensland Wins for MulawaThe recent shows in Queensland proved successful for Mulawa with the next generation of show stars amongst the competition. In her debut, PRAVIA MI was awarded the Junior Filly Championship at the prestigious Queensland Challenge. At both the Queensland Challenge and the Gala Event under international judges Dick Adams and Mickey Hegg, respectively, MULAWA ASPIRING (Magnum Forty Four x Jiah Aspire by GLF Apollo) was named Reserve Senior Champion Mare.
Final Foals of the SeasonThe final foals of the season arrived on the 31st of March: two higly anticipated KLASS embryo transfer foals out of the premier mares PARADA & PRINCIPESSA CCA. t has been another outstanding year of foals, with extraordinary individuals sired by DA VALENTINO, ABHA QATAR, GAZAL AL SHAQAB, GUILIANO and MAGNUM FORTY FOUR. We are especially proud of the first foals by Mulawa-bred sire ALLEGIANCE MI. Both colts exhibit the extreme type and quality of their sire. KLASS continues to defy all expectations, with his best crop of foals yet, fillies and colts alike.
MULAWA ANASTAZIA | 2004 - 2012
It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news of the loss of MULAWA ANASTAZIA. A former National Stud Show Champion and East Coast as well as Australian Reserve Champion Yearling Filly, ANASTAZIA was beloved as one of the best mares of her generation and an esteemed member of the invaulable collection of PARKVIEW AUDACIOUS daughters wihtin the Mulawa broodmare band. ANASTAZIA was found dead in her shelter at Alabama from unknown causes.
Dressage with the Stars - Successive Success
For the second year in a row, Team Mulawa Performance was victorious at Dressage with the Stars, the 10th annual event in Werribee, Victoria. In the toughest competition for young Dressage horses on the continent, Arabian Warmblood mare SUGARLOAF SIRHARA was named Champion Five Year Old with an excellent score of 9.0 for Ridability from UK-based and South African born Emile Faurie. SIRARA was also the highest scoring Dressage horse of the show with an excellent score of 82.4%. On Saturday evening competing against both the champion four and six year olds from their respective divisions, SIRHARA was named Australian Young Dressage Horse Champion of Champions to the thundering approval of the crowd.
2012 Australian Championships ResultsThe Australian Championships have once again proven an outstanding showcase for Mulawa owned, bred and shown horses. Friday proved especially successful for GUILIANO, whose first foals dominated the Yearling classes, earning all three Australian Championship titles. ROMANCE MI earned herself back-to-back Australian Champiosnships with a win as Two & Three Year Old Filly Champion. Katharine Farrell & German-import LUXOR were dominant in the Dressage ring, winning both the Advanced Dressage test and the Prix St Georges. PARADA (with Cameron Bonney) was victorious as Australian Champion Mare. GUILIANO (with Andy Sellman) finished the year undefeated as Australian Champion Stallion and highest score of the show.
Mulawa Wins AHSA Annual AwardsMulawa was the recipient of two major awards on Tuesday night at the Arabian Horse Society of Australia AGM at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. For the fourth year in a row, Mulawa was named Purebred Breeder of the Year for wins earned at the 2011 Australian Championships. 2011 AHSA Purebred Saddle Horse of the Year was MULAWA BRONZE WINGS, who earned three Australian Championships, two Reserves and one Top Ten at Tamworth with Daniella Dierks.

East Coast Championships 2012 - Remarkable ResultsThe 25th Anniversary of the prestigious East Coast Championships turned out to be a celebratory event for Mulawa Arabian Stud. Under internationally respected judge Joseph Polo from the United States, Mulawa achieved six championships in the breeding classes, including all three yearling titles - Filly, Colt & Gelding, and the Two Year Old Colt title, as well as the Senior titles for both Mares & Stallions Five Years of Age & Over.
SUMMERZAR IMAGERY - Farewell to a Friend
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of SUMMERZAR IMAGERY (Luden's Image x Dessys Image by Wimsey Abdul). "Image" was the victim of chronic founder at just 15 years of age. IMAGE proved to be an exceptional ambassador for the Arabian Warmblood, winning hearts and legions of fans wherever he competed. He was deeply loved by Katharine Farrell and the whole Farrell family, as well as the dedicated Mulawa Performance Team. His passing has been an immense loss for all who had the good fortune to know him.
National Stud Show Success | 2011Despite the gloomy weather and steady drizzle on the first day of the 2011 National Stud Show at Horsley Park, the results for the Mulawa halter team were outstanding. With representatives in five of the six junior purebred championships, Team Mulawa was awarded four championship titles and two reserves. Mulawa Team Performance was equally successful in their debut. The ever talented team of MULAWA BRONZE WINGS & Daniella Dierks were victorious in the Jess Greenlagh Memorial Sash. Congratulations on a stellar start to the show season.
MULAWA WISDOM Qualifies for Tom QuiltyCongratulations to Anglo-Arabian MULAWA WISDOM (TS Al Malik x Wisp of Air) and Anita Johnson for qualifying for the Tom Quilty on November 26th. WISDOM finished third in his first 160 km ride both healthy and happy at the Tasmanian State Championships in St. Helens. We look forward to WISDOM riding the same course in June of 2012 when he competes at the Tasmanian hosted Tom Quilty. Good luck to Anita and WISDOM in 2012!

A sixth-generation Mulawa-bred female, *ALWAYS VALENTINE is a member of the beloved and highly accomplished M ANGELIQUE family. Shown just four times in 2011, *ALWAYS VALENTINE was rewarded with six major titles at four of the most prestigious shows on the continent. At her debut in February, she was named Scottsdale First Place Junior Two Year Old Filly, as well as overall Scottsdale Reserve Junior Champion Filly.

Big Win for Kate and LUXORA huge congratulations is in order for Katharine Farrell and recent PSI import LUXOR. Amongst incredibly strong competition, Kate and LUXOR were named Advanced Dressage Champion at the 2011 NSW Young Riders Championships. In addition to these individual achievements, their combined win and impressive scores contributed to Champion Team honours being earned by New South Wales.
