2013 CDI Sydney | Mulawa Success
Mulawa is pleased to report success at Australia's premier Dressage event - the CDI Sydney. An FEI 3-Star event, CDI Sydney hosts the top horses and riders from across the continent.
The star for Team Mulawa was LUXOR 118, an 11 year old Hannoverian gelding imported from Germany. With rider Katharine Farrell aboard, LUXOR won the Horseland FEI Young Rider Individual Test (CD-Y) from amongst a field of seven. This competition is designed for riders between the ages of 16-21, with the same difficulty as the Prix St Georges test. Congratulations Kate and LUXOR on a tremendous turn-out.
Brett Parberry was also hard at work at CDI Sydney with ABER HALLO 29, a nine-year old dark bay Westphalian stallion also imported from PSI. The promising pair finished a strong third in the Mulawa Performance FEI Intermediate I (CDI) and the Needs for Steeds FEI Prix St Georges competition, as well as the Zilco Intermediate Freestyle CDN. Doing double time in all three events, Brett finshed first each time out aboard DP Weltmieser, a seasoned athlete with a long list of successes to his credit. Congratulations to Brett and to DP Weltmieser's owners Susan & Richard Duddy on a job superbly done!
Congratulations also to Katharine & Brett as members of the winning Prix St Georges Derby Team. Winning the Dressage Duel Down Under (at Small Tour and CDI-Y Level), Katharine on LUXOR 118 and Brett on DP Weltmieser along with Maree Tomkinson on Debstar LP were victorious over the rival Dressage Team from New Zealand. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend of results for Team Mulawa.
