The glorious PARADA is a fifth-generation Mulawa female who traces directly to foundation mare DZINA, a Pure Polish import from Lasma first introduced to the breeding program back in 1976. Affectionately known as “Australia’s Sweetheart” PARADA (Magnum Forty Four x Presence by GLF Apollo) was the first three-year old filly in continental history ever to be named Champion in her division at the Australian Championships, the East Coast Championships and the National Stud Show, as well as the important Queensland Gala Event. With Cameron Bonney at the lead, the pair made for the most popular team on the show circuit, amassing legions of fans both at home & abroad for their inspirational show ring performances.  

After a well deserved year off rest & relaxation (plus a few broodmare duties) at Alabama, PARADA returned to test her worth amongst senior mare competition. She was better than ever at the National Stud Show in November 2011, having always loved the opportunity to strut her stuff in the sunshine. Trotting in with power and animation, snorting and blowing with tail flagged, PARADA captivated the crowd once again as the undisputed favourite, easily winning her qualifying section. She was awarded the Reserve Champion Senior Mare title under judge Janet Court of the UK – it would be the final time PARADA would finish outside the top spot in her stellar show career.

Her next two show ring appearances were her most important – the East Coast Championships & the Australian National Championships – fortunately, both just ‘around the corner’ in Sydney in 2012. Under respected US Judge Joseph Polo, PARADA was a stand-out as East Coast Senior Champion Mare. Six weeks later at Aussies, PARADA scored the highest amongst all the female entries at the show and was honoured with the ultimate continental distinction: Australia National Champion Senior Mare. 

After a final ‘post-show’ photo session with Stu Vesty, PARADA was permanently retired from the show ring to assume maternal duties at Alabama. Not surprisingly, considering her innate enthusiasm for life and the positive energy she so effortlessly emanates, PARADA has mastered this responsibility with extraordinary grace and achievement.

Tall, elegant, and infinitely feminine, PARADA is an ultra-high quality, long necked, smooth bodied young mare who embodies the superior phenotypic style of the most elite daughters of MAGNUM PSYCHE. She ranks among the best young mares of her generation and is highly representative of the international quality now produced with regularity at Mulawa.

Australia’s Sweetheart has since evolved from show ring darling to Aristocrat Dam of Seven Champions and counting, becoming the most important & influential member of her dam family in the process.
