Born in Denmark and raised in the southern reaches of the French Alps, Larenso captured the attention of the Farrell family and Brett Parbery (performance head trainer at the time) as a very rare young prospect. Eager to express interest, a trip was organised to view Larenso at the family-owned barn and training yard where he was cared for.

Located in the picturesque and rugged slopes of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (a few hours’ drive from Nice), four days were set aside to work with the impressive young chestnut who had previously been successfully competed locally at a number of events. The decision was made soon afterwards to extend an offer, with the hope of bringing him home.

Larenso has gone from strength to strength since his arrival at the Ambition barn and has become an outstanding ambassador for the Performance Team. He is a naturally gifted athlete; displaying incredible extended paces coupled with an aptitude for collected work. His sire BOGEGARDENS LAURINO (DK) carries both the internationally renowned bloodlines of WELTMEYER and LAURIES CRUSADOR (XX) – the traits of which are certainly evident when examining the quality of Larenso’s movement, willingness, and kind nature.

Campaigned at the beginning of his Australian career by Brett Parbery and now Riley Alexander, Larenso has garnered some incredible accolades to date. His achievements include the titles of 2016 Sydney CDI Small Tour Champion (earning first place in the Prix St Georges, Inter I and Inter I Freestyle), winner of the 2016 DJWTS Prix St. Georges Cup, FEI World Dressage Challenge 2018 Inter I Champion, and 2018 National Medium Tour Champion (placing first in the Inter A, Inter B and Medium Tour Freestyle).

Larenso is an exquisite horse and a fine representative of the calibre that Mulawa Performance strives to attain. We anticipate a stellar career ahead for Larenso and truly regard him as an athlete of international quality.
