National Stud Show 2013 | Mulawa Success
Mulawa is once again proud to report significant success at the National Stud Show in Sydney, held from 14-17 November at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. Both Teams Performance & Halter returned home with major titles earned in the toughest competition from around the country.
Team Performance can be especially proud of wins in the Ridden divisions for both Arabians and Warmbloods. Katharine Farrell and her superstar Arabian Warmblood gelding LUXOR 118 were named champion in the Baskhaan Memorial Sash on Saturday night. Christian Akehurst won both the Supreme Champion Ridden Arabian Warmblood & Surpeme Champion Novice Horse of the Show with MI SIRTAINLY SIR, while Christian and MI RENAISSANCE HIT earned the Reserve Championship in the Jess Greenhalgh Memorial Challenge for Derivatives. Jayna Prell & the reigning Australian Champion Stallion AAMHANI won the Intermediate Ridden Arabian Stallion class and took home the Reserve Championship Ridden Arabian Stallion title behind Mulawa-bred ANASTAZI MI.
The ultimate highlight of the show for the Mulawa breeding program was achieved in Friday evening in the Purebred division of the Jess Greenhalgh Memorial Challenge. Mulawa-bred horses earned six of the Top Ten places including First through Fifth with five sons and one grandson on MAGNUM FORTY FOUR. This was an incredible achievement for the late great FORTY FOUR, whose influence in Australia and beyond is immensely appreciated and enthusiastically celebrated by a growing group of fans and admirers.
