MAXIMILLIANO | Setting the Australian Standard
The 2015 Australian National Championships in Werribee, Victoria proved to be a momentous occasion for MAXIMILLIANO. In a unanimous decision by all three judges, "MAX" was named National Champion Senior Stallion with Jason Hodgins, and in doing so, became the first stallion in Aussie history to be named National Champion in all three age divisions.
It is only fitting that MAXIMILLIANO is proudly owned by Kay & Phil Edward of Shane Edward Arabians, since Kay & Phil are responsible for breeding his dam - the incomparable MUSTANG'S MAGNUM. A daughter of Mulawa's supersire MAGNUM FORTY FOUR and the Edward's prize South Australian Champion Mare SAHTARAH, MUSTANG'S MAGNUM was a favorite of Kay's from the moment she was born. Once weaned, this special filly made her way to Sydney to be promoted as part of Team Mulawa, a decision which led to an unprecedented run as National Stud Show, East Coast and Australian National Champion Yearling Filly in an undefeated season. "MAGGIE" later returned to the show ring as a junior mare to earn Reserve Championship titles at the National Stud Show & Australian National Chamionships behind stablemate and paternal sister PARADA, while joining the Mulawa breeding program the same season. Thus far, MUSTANG'S MAGNUM has produced eight foals, the eldest six all having been shown and named champion at the highest level in Australia, including major titles at the Australian Championships. Amongst these are full sibilings MAJESTA MI & MAXIMISE MI, twice Australian Champion Gelding Under Saddle & East Coast Cup winner FAMES PHANTOM MI, and full sisters MI KLASSIC FANTASY & KLASSICAL DREAM MI. KLASSICAL DREAM, now under the ownership of Al Khalediah Stables (Saudi Arabia), has since been named Gold Champion four times in Europe & the Middle East, while finishing a strong Top Ten at both the Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas and the World Championhips in Paris. With this record of production, MUSTANG'S MAGNUM is the leading young broodmare in the Mulawa program, and arguably in all of Australia.
Paternally, MAXIMILLIANO is blessed with natural show ring charisma of his sire GUILIANO, a National Stud Show, East Coast and unanimous Australian National Champion Stallion. MAX has been the most successful get of his prolific sire in the show ring, alongside Australian National & East Coast Champions MI HARMONY, REGENT MI, MI APHRODITE, BALMORAL MI, KONQUEST MI and full brother MAXIMISE MI.
As twice East Coast Champion, as both a Two Year Old and a Junior Stallion, MAXIMILLIANO is also a dual winner in Victoria, as State Champion Senior Stallion, as well as Victorian Classic Senior Champion Stallion & Supreme Champion Male Exhibit. He is the first Australian National Champion Stallion to also be named World Cup Breeders Showcase Champion Stallion. It was here in Melbourne that MAXIMILLIANO also earned the high score of the entire show, a repeat of the same feat accomplished as three year old at the Australian Championships in Sydney. MAXIMILLIANO was named unanimous Australian Champion on two occasions - both as a junior colt in 2014 and as a senior stallion in 2015. His unprecedented record as an undefeated three-time Australian National Chamipion was accomplished in just three years, as MAX earned his intial title as National Champion Yearling Colt in 2012.
