IMPRESSA MI | Scottsdale Gold Champion
Exciting news from Scottsdale! On Saturday afternoon, IMPRESSA MI made her debut in the international section of the Scottsdale All Arabian Horse Show, winning her section of the class for Three & Year Old Mares. With a score of 331.0, IMPRESSA was awarded the highest score from amongst all the Senior Mare entries. As the youngest mare in both sections, IMPRESSA was a stand-out in quality, conformation and movement with Andrew Sellman at the lead.
In the championship as the youngest mare (born 27 August 2011) in the competition, IMPRESSA emerged the victor as 2014 Scottsdale International Gold Champion Senior Mare. With this win, IMPRESSA makes history as not only the first Australian-bred female to be named Scottsdale Champion Mare, but the youngest horse (at just under 30 months of age) ever to be named Senior Champion in in the 59 year history of the show.
IMPRESSA has been a consistent winner since her arrival in the United States as Scottsdale Champion Junior Two Year Old Filly, Region 10 Champion Two Year Old Filly, US National Reserve Champion Two Year Old Filly & Canadian National Champion Two Year Old Filly.
A special thank you is due to all the many professionals - breeders, trainers, owners and friends alike - who have made IMPRESSA's success a reality. To the LaCroix Family and Lasma (USA), for introducing LM MAGICS GIFT, IMPRESSA's great-grandmother, to the Farrell Family. To Dr. Hans Nagel (Germany) for agreeing to sell the Janow Podlaski-bred EUNI in foal to JAMIL to Greg Farrell Sr, who in turn produced the Mulawa foundation sire VISION. To the Bonney Family (Australia), for breeding PARKVIEW AUDACIOUS, IMPRESSA's maternal grandsire, and for allowing him to have a positive and pervasive impact throughout the Mulawa breeding program. To Jeff Sloan (USA), for sharing ARIA IMPRESARIO with the Mulawa program and believing in the unknown IMPRESSA, and to Michael Byatt (USA), for first introducing the young superstar to the Sloan Family in 2007. To Andrew & Angela Sellman, and the entire incredibly capable Team at Argent Farms (USA), for caring for, preparing and presenting IMPRESSA with class, style, dignity and respect. And finally, to the Gunabalan Family (USA), for entrusting your first horse experience to IMPRESSA, and for promoting her with passion and grace, and for loving her and believing in her every step of the way.
Congratulations, Joanne & Ram, on your record-setting success with IMPRESSA. She truly has become that once-in-a-lifetime mare! We are incredibly proud of her achievements under your guidance and in your care. We wish you great fortune with her as she pursues her breeding career, and further success in the show ring should she return to the spotlight in the future...
