Farewell TS AL MALIK | 09 December 1992 – 15 January 2020
It is with tremendous sorrow that we share with the global Arabian Community the passing of TS AL MALIK (Hello Barich ELS x BF Tiffany Select by BF Rageymazon). A beloved international icon who illuminated show rings with his masculine power and charisma on three continents as Australian & Brazilian National Champion, as well as a Scottsdale Reserve Champion, MALIK is best remembered as an invaluable Mulawa chief sire since his arrival to Australia in 1998.
Bred in Brazil by Toni Salloum, MALIK was blessed with a unique combination of Spanish, Gainey, Raffles, Polish and Egyptian bloodlines, the infusion of which into the Mulawa programme has reaped infinite reward since the arrival of his first foal, the late Aristocrat Dam ON ANGELS WINGS (x M Angelique by VISION) in 1998. This positive and pervasive influence of TS AL MALIK in the modern Mulawa programme has been not only prolifically propagated through his incomparable daughters, but most significantly via the unfolding impact of his most important male descendants – current Mulawa chief sires KLASS (x Karmaa by Kaborr) and ALLEGIANCE MI (Magnum Forty Four x Audacia by Parkview Audacious), both of whom have extended his enduring legacy around the world.
As a poignant tribute to the late legend, the final two foals of the season arrived at Alabama these past two mornings: a gorgeous grey double-MALIK filly by ALLEGIANCE MI out of the youngest MALIK daughter in the herd, Aristocrat Dam MELODY MI (x Fames Harmony by Fame Maker R) on Tuesday; and an incredibly promising bay colt sired by ALLEGIANCE MI out of ALWAYS VALENTINE MI (DA Valentino x Always An Angel by SK Shakla Khan) early on Wednesday, an aspiring heir to the MALIK legacy for the next generation.
MALIK was laid peacefully to rest this morning in the front paddock of Ambition, nearest the main entrance where he oversaw all the activities as the undisputed ‘king of his domain’ since the property was first established in 2003. Though his indomitable presence is gone from our everyday lives, his profound impact will endure for generations in the multitude of superlative descendants and in the precious memories he leaves behind for everyone blessed to have shared in his extraordinary life.
Thank you, MALIK, for giving us all so many unforgettable years of joy, happiness and reward. Through the infinite gifts you leave behind, you remind us all, every single day, why life with the Arabian horse is the best life anyone can ever choose to live…
