FAME MAKER R Legacy Award | Celebrating 20 Years of FAME & Fortune

The greatest joys and blessings of breeding are those that endure in profound and unexpected ways...

20 years ago, in one of the most dynamic and unforgettable show ring appearances in Arabian horse history, FAME MAKER R was crowned Australian National Champion Stallion with Greg Farrell at the lead. Through a series of fortunate circumstances before and after his final competition, FAME MAKER was to find his way onto the sire roster at Mulawa, and subsequently, into a lasting impact on the breed both at home and abroad.

The enduring legacy of FAME MAKER includes such memorable Australian National Champions as: FAMES PRESENCE, GOLD N WINGS, FLAME MAKER, BECAUSE, HIGH CALIBRE, RAPID FIRE, ECHOS OF MARWAN, MYSTERE MI, MASTER KLASS MI & MAKEHER JAZZ. Through his celebrated daughters - especially his beloved look-alike daughter FAMES HARMONY, as well as esteemed matrons BEFAME & ANGEL OF FAME - FAME MAKER continues to influence the breeding program at Mulawa into the fourth generation. FAMES HARMONY has been the leading producer of top quality breeding daughters over the last decade - the likes of KLASSIC HARMONY MI (exported to Al Shaqab Stud, Qatar), MELODY MI, KACHE MI, MI HARMONY & KLASSICAL SYMPHONY MI, while ANGEL OF FAME is directly responsible for the global success of the M ANGELIQUE Family through a trio of international champions: ALWAYS VALENTINE MI, VALENTINO'S ANGEL MI & VANGELIS MI.

At the 2017 Australian Arabian National Championships in Sydney, FAME MAKER's monumental victory two decades earlier was honoured with the FAME MAKER R Legacy Award in the Ridden Arabian Gelding Championship. Most pleasingly, Gold, Silver & Bronze National Champion were all Mulawa-bred, as were three of the Top Ten: MULAWA VIVACIOUS, ANASTAZI MI & REGENT MI. Bronze National Champion was DARK KNIGHT MI, a superstar on the rise who was ridden superbly by his proud owner Katherine Hopkins to this honour. Silver Champion was the reigning National Gold Champion Ridden Arabian Gelding FAMES PHANTOM MI, ridden by Kristian Akehurst for his happy owner Christine Hellyer. A direct son of FAME MAKER R, FAMES PHANTOM is the only purebred saddle horse to be named National Champion Ridden in three successive years (2014-2016). Assuming the throne as Gold National Champion was ALLEGIANT MI, a three-time winner at the 2017 AANC as unanimous Gold National Champion Senior Gelding as well as Silver Snaffle Champion for the second year in a row. As the most successful purebred of the entire show, ALLEGIANT MI brought immense joy and satisfaction to former owners Samatha & Glenys Fallick, as well as to new owners Carlie Beer & Ricky Carver.

27 years young and thriving in his outdoor paddock just to left of the main entrance at Ambition, FAME MAKER R continues to bring immense joy & reward to Mulawa. We look forward to celebrating his enduring FAME & fortune for decades yet to come, and to enjoying every precious moment with which we are blessed to share in his noble company...
