Mare Families

Mulawa has long understood the paramount importance of superlative dam lines. This quiding principle of the breeding program was first gleaned from the wisdom of the Poles and later more dramatically learned through the challenges of their own breeding operation. At present, Mulawa is home to fourteen dam families, seven of which are represented by multiple mares in production. Of the seven enduring dam lines, all but one were founded upon mares purposefully imported to Mulawa with the intent of broadening the genetic palette and improving the general quality of the Arabian horse in Australia.

Many of the Mulawa broodmatrons have amassed inpressive show records across the country. Most importantly, these same mares have gone on to produce the next generation of excellence for Mulawa with great consistency, decade after decade. Combined with the genetic and phenotypic merit of the Mulawa stallions, the Mulawa mare families have earned the reputation as the most valuable producers of quality Arabians in Australia.
Daughters and granddaughters of legendary sires KABORR, RAMSES FAYEK, BASK, ALADDINN, BANDOS, NABORR, COMET, FAME VF, PADRONS PSYCHE, VERSACE, MAGNUM PSYCHE & MARWAN AL SHAQAB have all played important and integral roles in creating the modern Mulawa Arabian.
