Destination Alabama

Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Upper Hunter Valley in the heart of Australia's Horse Capital, Alabama Stud is the ideal environment in which to raise the next generation of Mulawa excellence. Fertile, undulating and rich in productivity, the stud is also blessed with an ample water supply, as both the Pages & mighty Hunter rivers pass directly through the property. Home to several generations of Mulawa broodmares, the complete line-up of chief sires and all ages of growing youngstock from weanlings to four year olds, Alabama, and the adjoining Cronk Coar Stud, are a literal horse haven in which the health, well-being and burgeoning potential of all horses in residence thrive.

Situated centrally in New South Wales, just 250 km northwest of Sydney, 130 km northwest of Newcastle, 145 km south of Tamworth and 15 km north of Muswellbrook, Alabama Stud is easily accessible via the New England Highway just north of Aberdeen on Segenhoe Road. Just ten kilometres from the Horse Capital of Australia, Scone, Alabama Stud is surrounded by many of the leading thoroughbred operations in the world, including neighbours Darley Stud & Vinery Stud, as well as Arrowfield Stud, Newgate Stud Farm & Yarraman Park. Rivalling the rolling green landscapes of Lexington, Kentucky, with the ancient Barrington Tops as the dramatic backdrop, Scone and the Upper Hunter Shire are one the most arrestingly beautiful and abundantly productive regions on the continent.

The Hunter Valley is the sixth most visited region in Australia, with plenty to see and do including world class horses, wineries, mountain wilderness and rural tranquility. To learn more about what the Hunter Valley region has to offer, please visit the Destination NSW website:
